Hopkins, MN – The 2017 State of the City and Taste of Hopkins event will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet in Downtown Hopkins. Taste of Hopkins will be held from 5 to 6 p.m., with the State of the City following immediately after.
Sponsored by the City of Hopkins, the Hopkins Business & Civic Association, and Twin West Chamber of Commerce, the State of the City offers an opportunity for residents and business owners to learn more about the workings of the city in a relaxed setting.
Before the main event, guests are invited to enjoy the Taste of Hopkins, which will feature a variety of appetizers, entrees, desserts and beverages, compliments of Hopkins restaurants, various organizations and Hopkins Farmers Market vendors. Attendees are asked to bring a monetary donation or non-perishable food item for the local ICA food shelf.
The State of the City address will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and will focus on what is to come in 2017.
“The State of the City and Taste of Hopkins is a wonderful opportunity for Hopkins residents and business owners to network and receive timely updates about what is happening in their city,” said Hopkins City Manager Mike Mornson. “Add in great food and fun, and it’s an event not to be missed.”
Participating in the State of the City will be Mornson, Hopkins Mayor Molly Cummings, and City Council Members Katy Campbell, Kristi Halverson and Jason Gadd.
