Youth Summer Sports Camps by Skyhawks

The Hopkins Pavilion is home to several youth summer sports camps from the nationwide organization Skyhawks.

Mini Hawk: T-Ball, Basketball & Soccer (Ages 4-7)

Boy throws ball into basketball hoops This t-ball, basketball and soccer program gives children a fun and positive first step into athletics. Through games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace.

For all half-day camps, participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award.

Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen. Shin guards are recommended.

Multi Sport: Baseball, Basketball & Soccer (Ages 7-12)

Boy fields baseballSkyhawks multi-sport camp is designed to introduce athletes to a variety of different sports in one setting. For this program we combine soccer, flag football and basketball into one fun-filled week.

Athletes will learn the rules and essentials skills of each sport along with vital life lessons such as respect and teamwork.

Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen. Participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award..

Flag Football (Ages 5–12)

Flag Football is the perfect introduction to “America’s Game.” Campers learn skills on both sides of the football including the core components of passing, catching and defense – all presented in a fun and positive environment.

The week ends with the Skyhawks Super Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron.

Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, water bottle and sunscreen. Participants receive a t-shirt and merit award.

Skyhawks Tennis with Quickstart (Ages 5–7)

Skyhawks Tennis with Quickstart is a new format to help kids learn and play tennis. To create a successful learning environment, we have made modifications to our traditional tennis program. The court is smaller and has shorter nets, the racquets are smaller and the balls are foam. In addition to developing a love for tennis, athletes will learn the rules and etiquette that make tennis such an exciting game to play.

Participants should bring tennis racquet, appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes, and sunscreen. All participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award.

Tennis (Ages 7–12)

In Skyhawks tennis programs, players learn proper grips, footwork, strokes, volleys and serves during a series of drills designed to teach skills in a fun and dynamic way. Athletes also learn the rules and etiquette that make tennis an exciting game. Due to limited court space, these programs fill quickly.

Participants should bring tennis racquet, appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen. All participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award.

Soccer Camp (Ages 5–12)

Using our curriculum that is built on a progression, your young athlete will gain the technical skills and sport knowledge required for the next step into soccer. Designed for beginner and intermediate players, this camp focuses on dribbling, passing, shooting and ball control.

Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen. Participants receive a t-shirt and merit award. Shin guards are recommended. Cleats are optional.
