2010 Street & Utility Improvements

Park Ridge neighborhood

Construction began in early July 2009 and will continue through October of 2010. Improvements to the Park Ridge neighborhood include:

  • a complete reconstruction with new curb and gutter
  • new paving
  • water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer replacement

Access will be maintained for property owners.

5th Street South, between 11th Avenue South and west city limits

Improvements to 5th Street South include:

  • a complete reconstruction with new curb and gutter
  • new paving
  • water main and storm sewer installation

5th Street South will be open during construction with some short duration closings during paving operations.

Additional projects

Other street projects to be completed this summer include continuing the crack sealing, seal coat, and street striping program. Also this year sidewalk and alley repairs will be conducted east of 5th Avenue North.

Future projects

Hwy 61 (Shady Oak Rd)

Hennepin County, in partnership with the Cities of Minnetonka and Hopkins, is proposing to reconstruct County State Aid Highway 61 (Shady Oak Road) from north of Excelsior Blvd to TH 7. Learn more about the Shady Oak Road redesign.
