Location

This project includes the rehabilitation of the following streets in the Peaceful Valley and Park Valley Neighborhoods:

  • 5th Avenue South
  • 6th Avenue South
  • 7th Avenue South
  • 8th Avenue South
  • 9th Avenue South
  • 10th Avenue South
  • 6th Street South
  • 7th Street South
  • 8th Street South
  • East Park Valley Drive
  • West Park Valley Drive
  • Alleyway south of 6th Street South, west of 10th Avenue South
  • Alleyway connecting 6th Avenue South to 8th Street South

Upcoming Schedule

  • February, March – Public informational meeting #3
    • Two open houses will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, and Wednesday, March 1, at 5 p.m. at Hopkins City Hall.
  • March – Award construction contract
  • Late April / Early May – Begin construction (weather dependent)
  • November – Work complete, final layer of pavement installation

Proposed Improvements

Proposed street improvements include full reconstruction with new curb and gutter throughout the project area.

Proposed water main improvements include the removal and replacement of valves and hydrants throughout the majority of the project area. Additionally, all water services will be replaced from the main to the property line.

Sanitary sewer improvements include the removal and replacement of the main, manholes and service lines to the property line.

Proposed storm sewer improvements include removal and replacement of the storm sewer main, addition of storm sewer inlets to reduce water ponding in the street and improvements to reduce sediment accumulation in gutters.

Pedestrian facilities includes construction of a multi-use trail along 9th Avenue and 7th Street. The trail will provide an off-road connection between Valley Park and the trail along 11th Avenue.
