Turf Season at the Pavilion Begins March 3

Turf season at the Hopkins Pavilion begins March 3 and runs through May 7. The Pavilion turf is a boarded indoor arena available to rent for sports and events including soccer, lacrosse, rugby, football, baseball and birthday parties. Turf Tots, a drop-in program for kids to run and play with provided toys and equipment, begins March 6. Find more information about turf season at the Pavilion.


Tree Sale Opens March 6

In partnership with Tree Trust, Hopkins Public Works will be offering a limited number of trees at a discounted price of $40 each to residents beginning Monday, March 6.Residents are responsible for planting the trees and must call Gopher State One Call prior to digging. Trees must be planted on private property in Hopkins, not within the boulevard or public right-of-way. Trees will be available for pick-up on May 6 from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Hopkins Water Treatment Plant next to Elmo Park, 1498 7th Street N. This will be the only tree pick-up date. There is a two tree limit per household. Browse tree options and purchase a tree.


New at the Activity Center: Pickleball Court Rental

The Hopkins Activity Center is now offering Pickleball court rentals on Fridays and Saturdays now through May 20. Two-hour private rentals are open between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for $30 per court, $28 for members. Registration is required, no drop-ins are allowed. Learn more and register online.


Building Safer Communities Micro Grant Application Period Now Open

The City of Hopkins seeks to provide funding opportunities for programs, communication, advocacy, and organizing led by community-based organizations and community members that promote community safety and connectivity through Building Safer Communities Micro Grants. The micro-grant program will focus on projects that fund, inspire, and assist with crime reduction efforts. The City will fund projects between $500 and $2,500.
