Arbor Day Event is Today

Join the City of Hopkins, Alice Smith Elementary and Tree Trust to celebrate Arbor Day! The event will take place April 25 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Alice Smith Elementary, where community members can participate in a community tree mulching activity and hear an engaging tree talk.


Spring Bulk Item Drop-Off is April 25-26

The City is holding its annual spring bulk item drop-off event today, April 25, from 3 to 7 p.m., and tomorrow, April 26, from 9 a.m. to noon. For a $40 fee plus taxes, you can drop off one appliance and up to three cubic yards worth of trash (the equivalent of one pick-up truckload). Shred-N-Go will also be on-site for confidential destruction of documents. Payment will be processed by card at the event. Find more information about the drop-off event. 


Free Yard Waste Pick-Up Runs Through May 1

Yard waste will be collected for free on your regular garbage day through May 1. You do not need to call to schedule this pickup. Place bagged yard waste at your normal refuse collection site at least four feet away from your refuse and recycling containers. After May 1, bags will be collected on Thursdays and must display yard waste stickers, available for purchase at City Hall or Public Works.
