Accepted Recycling Items

Mix together all of the following materials in your recycling cart. (All of the sorting is done by Republic Services at its material recovery facility.)

Do not place plastic bags or garbage in your recycling cart. Also not accepted: #3, #4, #6, #7 plastic.

Paper

  • Mail, office and school papers
  • Magazines and catalogs
  • newspapers and inserts
  • Phone books

Boxes

  • Cardboard (2 feet x 2 feet or smaller)
  • Cereal and cracker boxes
  • Shoe boxes, gift boxes and electronics boxes
  • Toothpaste, medication and other toiletry boxes

  2. 2 Cardboard boxes
  3. 3 Cereal boxes

Plastic

Bottles & Jugs

(caps should be left on)

  • Water, soda and juice bottles
  • Milk and juice jugs
  • Ketchup and salad dressing bottles
  • Dishwashing liquid bottles and detergent jugs
  • Shampoo, soap and lotion bottles

Cups & Containers

  • Yogurt, pudding and fruit cups
  • Margarine, cottage cheese, and other containers
  • Produce, deli and take out containers

No film plastic (i.e. bags) or Styrofoam

Recycling numbers 1, 2 or 5 must be visible on the item.
