[ARCHIVED] Press Release: City Begins Work on Hopkins Pavilion Addition and Renovations

Hopkins, MN – The City of Hopkins began construction February 26 on renovations and a new addition at the Hopkins Pavilion. The renovations at the 27-year old facility include the replacement of the ice refrigeration plant, which is no longer reliable or environmentally friendly.

In addition, the City is partnering with Hopkins Public Schools and Hopkins Youth Hockey Association to expand the facility to include a larger lobby, an updated warming house and concessions stand, and various finish upgrades.

“We are excited to work with our partners to provide new public spaces to better serve the Hopkins community,” said Hopkins Public Works Director Steve Stadler.

The City hired RJM Construction last fall as construction manager to oversee the addition and renovation project. The project team also includes architect 292 Design Group and Stevens Engineers.

The team has composed a schedule that accommodates keeping the Pavilion open through April. Work is expected to be completed in September.

Look for project updates on the Hopkins Pavilion page as the work progresses.
