The Burnes Park splash pad will reopen for the season on Monday, June 15.
The City of Hopkins has been relying on guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health when making decisions that affect the community throughout this pandemic. This includes the closures and openings of City park facilities.
Exercise caution and use the splash pad responsibly to stay safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19 by:
- Staying home if you are sick.
- Practicing social distancing by maintaining six feet from individuals outside your immediate family.
- Avoiding crowded conditions. If the splash pad is too busy, reconsider using it.
- Wearing a face covering (encouraged, but not required), especially during busy times.
- Maintaining control of your child and respecting others.
- Limiting the amount of time in the water zone to avoid overcrowding during busy times.
- Limiting the time your family spends at the facility during busy times.
Please note the following additional information if you are planning to use the splash pad.
- The pavilion restrooms will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Keep in mind that they are cleaned/disinfected once each day prior to opening at 11 a.m. They are not continually sanitized between users.
- The splash pad will be open its normal hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
- The drinking fountains will not be available, so you’re encouraged to bring your own water.
Help us to keep the splash pad open this summer by using it responsibly.
