The City of Hopkins was recently recognized as a City of Excellence (for cities with a population of 5,000-19,999) by the League of Minnesota Cities. The City was recognized for the fire department’s participation in the Sound Off Fire Safety Program. The Hopkins Fire Department was one of three cities in Minnesota that volunteered to deliver this newly developed fire safety education program established by the Center for National Prevention Initiatives at the Michigan Public Health Institute, which helps to get education and life safety devices into the homes of residents.
More information about the award is in a press release on the League of Minnesota Cities website.
