The City of Hopkins follows the Minnesota Department of Transportation's start and end dates for Winter Load Increases and Spring Load Restrictions. For further information on these dates, visit Minnesota Department of Transportation's website.
All City of Hopkins roads are 4-ton per axle unless otherwise noted. View the street map (PDF) to see the streets that can accommodate more than 4-ton per axle.
A Permit for Overload Vehicle (PDF) application is available for an increase to 5-ton per vehicle for certain City roadways in Hopkins. An online application is also available.
The permit must be approved by the Assistant Public Works Director or the City Engineer and must be turned into the Public Works Department at:
