In partnership with the Metropolitan Council and the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment, the City of Hopkins is offering rebates to improve water efficiency. The City will be distributing $38,750 in rebates. Property owners who are customers of the City of Hopkins water utility may apply for a rebate after replacing existing showerheads, toilets, clothes washing machines, residential dishwashers, or irrigation systems with an Energy Smart or WaterSense certified product, or by completing an irrigation audit.

Eligible Projects
Rebates are available for 75% of the cost of the item, up to a maximum of:
- $100 for WaterSense labeled showerheads
- $200 for WaterSense labeled toilets
- $200 for Energy Star labeled clothes washing machines
- $200 for Energy Star labeled residential dishwashers
- $200 for WaterSense labeled irrigation system controller
- $200 per irrigation system audit conducted by a WaterSense Certified Irrigation Professional.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a property owner who is a customer of the City of Hopkins water utility
- The purchase of the product must be made before June 30, 2026
- New construction and new developments are not eligible for rebates. The new appliance must be replacing an old one.

- Complete online application (opening August 1)
- Copy of receipt, which must clearly show:
- Date of purchase
- Product information (Model number)
- Eligible product(s) itemized per line
Issuing Rebates
- Rebates will be processed in the order they are received and will be issued until June 30, 2026, or until funds are gone
- Rebates are for the product purchase only; installation and permit costs are ineligible
- Rebates will be issued through a check that will be mailed to the applicant's address
- Rebate applications must be submitted before June 30, 2026
- Please allow at least 30 days for the processing of the rebate.
