The City of Hopkins is replacing all water meters City-wide in 2024 and has contracted Ferguson Waterworks to complete the installation of these meters. Installation will begin in late May-early June and will continue throughout 2024.
Property owners will NOT be charged for the meter replacement.
Meter Installation
Property owners will receive a letter from Ferguson Waterworks with information about the project and how to schedule an appointment.
To install the new water meter:
- Ferguson Waterworks will need access to the meter inside your property.
- The water meter area should be clear and accessible. Please clear the area surrounding your meter prior to your appointment.
- An adult 18 years old or older must be present at the time of installation.
- Hopkins City Code requires that all water services have working shut-off valves for the water meter.
A two-hour block of time will be scheduled. The installer will complete the meter installation work within the two-hour time frame. Basic installations typically take 30-60 minutes.
All installers will have identification, wear uniforms, travel in marked vehicles and have completed background checks.
